Jaziana Mathis of the women's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 31.

The redshirt senior from Beverly Hills, Florida averaged 18.5 points per game to help lead Flagler to a 1-1 week. She scored a career-high 25 points, including 14 in the second quarter alone, in a 70-69 win at Clayton State last Saturday. Mathis also had career-highs in field goals made (11) and attempted (21). She finished with 12 points in a tough 79-74 loss to conference-leader Lander University last Wednesday.

Mathis is averaging 13.9 ppg and has made a team-high 15 three-pointers so far this season.
