Sara Sandberg of the women's soccer team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Sept. 22.
Sandberg had another big week as she scored three goals, including two game-winners, and added a pair of assists to help keep No. 14 Flagler undefeated. Her goal in the 54th minute against Florida Southern started a cavalcade of goals, four in just under five minutes, in a 5-0 win. She assisted on two goals in that match. In the showdown with No. 19 Rollins, she scored the game-winner in the 79th minute to break a 2-all tie. Sandberg leads the league in goals, assists, points, and game-winning goals. She has been selected the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week twice this season.
