Anika Nissen of the women's tennis team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending March 24.
Nissen went 2-0 this past week in singles competition and 2-0 in doubles. Last Saturday, she knocked of the No. 53-ranked singles player, Luise Sachs of Columbus State University, 4-6, 7-6, 10-7. Nissen accounted for No. 28 (Oracle/ITA Division II Top 50) Flagler's lone point at No. 15 Columbus State.
The sophomore from Guatemala City, Guatemala has won eight consecutive singles matches this spring. She has won eight consecutive doubles matches too with teammate Lixin Wang.
