Morgan Murphy of the softball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending April 22.
Murphy batted .429 with nine hits, including two doubles, one home run, and a team-best eight runs batted in as Flagler posted a 4-2 record last week. She had a .667 slugging percentage for the week thanks to her team-leading 14 total bases.Â
The Orlando native went 2-for-5 with a home run and four runs batted in during the first game of the doubleheader at Augusta on Monday. She hit a three-run blast in Flagler's seven-run first inning. Murphy went 2-for-4 with four RBI in the second game against Florida Southern. She hit a two-run single and a two-run double vs. the Mocs. Murphy added a single and a double in the second game Saturday vs. Georgia Southwestern.
For the season, Murphy is batting .361 with 53 hits and has a .592 slugging percentage. She has 11 doubles, one triple and seven home runs to go along with 37 RBI. Â
