Ethan Crout of the baseball team was named as the Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Sleep Inn, for the month of March.
Crout was selected as the player of the week twice in March.
From March 4:Â Crout batted a team-high .529 and led the club in hits (9), runs (8), doubles (2), total bases (11) and on-base percentage (.579) as the Saints posted a 4-0 record. Against Embry-Riddle, Crout went 4-for-4 with a double, four runs scored and two runs batted in. He was on base all five times he batted. The Jacksonville native then went 3-for-4 with a double and he scored three runs in the series opener at Lander. Crout added a pair of singles and scored a run last Saturday at Lander.
From March 18: Crout became the fourth Flagler player ever to hit for the cycle as he turned the feat on Sunday vs. Augusta in a 13-8 win. He went 5-for-6 with four runs batted in and two runs scored. Crout hit a double in the first inning, singled in the fourth and seventh, homered in the fifth and got the triple in his last at bat in the eighth.
He batted .384 in the month of March with a team-leading 33 hits, including five doubles, one triple and three home runs. Crout drove in 12 runs and scored a team-high 22 runs. He was just as good defensively making only two errors in 92 total chances for a .978 fielding percentage.Â
