Cortlin Davis of the men's basketball team was selected as the Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Sleep Inn, for the month of December.
Davis was the athlete of the week during the month for the period ending Dec. 18.
Davis averaged 20.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game to help Flagler to a 2-0 week. He recorded his second double-double of the season with a 25-point, 12-rebound effort which helped Flagler defeat No. 25 Columbus State University, 97-82, last Saturday. Davis made 8 of his 16 field goal attempts and made 9 of 11 from the free throw stripe. He added two assists, two steals and one blocked shot to his line. Davis had 16 points and six rebounds vs. Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras.
For the month, Davis averaged a team-high 18.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. He made 44.9% of his shots from the field.
