Ashley Cheewah of the volleyball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Dec. 3.
Cheewah recorded 22 kills, hit .381 and had eight total blocks at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional last weekend at Aiken, South Carolina. In a quarterfinal sweep of Lander University, she recorded seven kills with just two errors on 14 swings to hit .357. In the semifinal loss to Queens University of Charlotte, Cheewah tied her career-high with 15 kills and had just four errors on 28 swings to hit .393. She also racked up seven block assists.
The Boynton Beach, Florida native finished fourth in the Peach Belt Conference in hitting percentage (.314) and solo blocks (20).
