Kelly Burge of the women's tennis team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Sept. 18.
Burge went a perfect 4-0 in singles competition at this past weekend's ERAU Open at Daytona Beach. She opened the tournament with a pair of straight-set wins over Ana Gonzalez Hoy and Kathryn Bock, both of Embry-Riddle, and then out-lasted Florida Southern's Magda Stepnik (5-7, 7-5, 11-9) and Embry-Riddle's Maud Mrad (6-4, 5-7, 10-7).
In doubles play, Burge teamed with Laura Kelly to go 2-1. The tandem defeated Embry-Riddle's duo of Mrad and Georgina Wood, 8-6, and then they took down Hoy and Bock of Embry-Riddle, 8-4.
