Mike O'Reilly of the baseball team was selected as the TraveLynx Athlete of the Week, for the period ending April 4.
O'Reilly earned the victory last Friday night as he tossed eight innings , scattered seven hits, allowed two earned runs, walked one and struck out a career-high 11 batters in Flagler's 11-5 win at Georgia Regents Augusta. He retired the first eight batters in a row and later he retired 12 of 14. O'Reilly induced nine ground outs and four more fly outs.
O'Reilly leads the team with a 2.92 earned run average this year. He is second on the staff in wins (5), innings pitched (64.2) and strikeouts (66). In the Peach Belt Conference, he ranks third in innings pitched, fourth in wins, and fifth in strikeouts and ERA. Â
