Jose Martinez of the men's tennis team was selected as the TraveLynx Athlete of the Week, for the period ending March 29.

This is the second time this month Martinez has been tabbed as the athlete of the week.

Martinez, ranked No. 7 in Division II in singles play by the ITA, won both of his singles matches last week and split his doubles matches. He defeated No. 16 Oussama Zoghlami of Columbus State University 6-3 and 7-6(5) in the home season finale on Sunday to run his winning streak to 10 matches. Martinez is one-half of the No. 22-ranked doubles team in the nation.

Martinez holds an 11-1 record in singles play this spring and is 7-0 against Peach Belt Conference competition. He is 3-1 against nationally-ranked players and 4-0 against regionally ranked competition. In doubles play, Martinez is 7-5 when paired with Bruno Padilha.
