Thaisa Pereira of the women's tennis team was selected as the TraveLynx Athlete of the Week, for the period ending March 15.
Pereira rose to the challenge on Friday at No. 9 Rollins College. With the match tied at 4-all, the overall outcome depended upon what happened at No. 5 singles. With all eyes on her, Pereira pulled out a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win which gave the match to No. 28 Flagler, 5-4.
She raised her singles record to 10-6. Pereira has played No. 3 singles for the majority of the season and holds a 6-3 record. She is 5-2 this season against Peach Belt Conference competition.
