Jerrell Oxendine of the men's basketball team was selected as the Athlete of the Month, sponsored by the Hampton Inn & Suites Vilano Beach, for the month of January.

Oxendine was selected as the student-athlete of the week on Jan. 25.

The 5-foot-10 senior guard started all 10 games for the Saints in January and averaged a team-high 18.9 points and 3.9 assists per game. Oxendine made 50% (59-118) of his shots from the field and made a team-high 24 three-pointers. Oxendine also made a team-best 83.9% (47-56) of his free throw attempts. His 14 steals led the club.

Oxendine scored a then-career best 25 points at Georgia College (Jan. 19) including seven points in the overtime session to help Flagler win on the road. He made six three-pointers and tallied 25 points against Georgia Regents University Augusta (Jan. 24) to close the week.

Oxendine is averaging 17.5 points and 4.4 assists per game for the Saints. He is making 82.4% of his free throw attempts.
