Sara Davis of the volleyball team was selected as the first Student-Athlete of the Month for the 2014-15 season, sponsored by the Hampton Inn & Suites Vilano Beach, for the month of September.
Davis was selected as the student-athlete of the week on Sept. 14. She became the first player at Flagler to record a triple-double when she recorded 16 kills, 11 total blocks and 10 digs in a tough five-set loss to King, Tenn. (Sept. 12).
For the month, Davis leads the team with a .310 hitting percentage, 27 service aces and 50 total blocks. She is second in kills with 151.
Davis is 10th in the Peach Belt Conference in kills (169) and eighth in hitting percentage (.283). She is tied for third with 28 aces and tied for second with 11 solo blocks, as well as fourth in block assists (48) and fourth in total blocks (59).
