Spencer Schindler of the men's golf team was selected as the TraveLynx Student-Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Feb. 16.
Schindler won medalist honors at the LMU Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate with a career record, for a 54-hole tournament, 202 (-11). The tournament concluded Tuesday (Feb. 11) at the Fleming Island Golf Club in Orange Park, Fla. Schindler also shot a single-round career record 66 in the final round of the tournament and just missed tying the school's single-round record by one stroke. Schindler won by seven strokes over teammate Sebastian Barnoya and helped Flagler finish in second place, just one shot back of Lincoln Memorial. He was the Peach Belt Conference Men's Golfer of the Week.
Schindler has won two events this year and has three top five and four top 10 finishes. In 14 rounds played, he is averaging 70.64 strokes per round and is -1 relative to par.
