For the second time this season, Williesha Spencer of the women's basketball team was selected as the TraveLynx Student-Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Dec. 8.
She was selected as the player of the week on Nov. 17.
Shorty averaged 23.5 points and 4-.0 assists per game last week for the Saints. She made 94.4% (17-18) of the free throw attempts. In a tough 84-79 loss at UCF, she scored a team-high 30 points and broke Flagler's Division II era record for free throws made in a game (13). Spencer was a perfect 13 for 13 from the charity stripe in that game. She also dished out a season-high seven assists.
Spencer is second in the PBC in field goals made (58), free throws made (40) and leads the league in points (166) and points per game (23.7). Â
