Donna Munafo of the softball team was selected as the TraveLynx Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Mar. 25.

This is her second player of the week honor of the season (Feb. 6).

Munafo helped lead the team to a 2-0 week as she tossed a complete game four-hit shutout at Francis Marion on Sunday. She went eight innings to earn the win and struck out eight batters. She allowed only one base runner to reach scoring position and retired 12 of the last 13 batters she faced.

For the season, Munafo is 14-1 with a miniscule 0.92 earned run average. She broke the school record for shutouts in a season with her fifth on Sunday. Munafo broke the previous record of four by Kelly Riddick in 2010. Her ERA going into the week was ranked No. 8 nationally. Munafo victories were ranked No. 12 in the country.
