Nicole Gamerl of the dance team was selected as the Diamond in the Rough for the month of January, sponsored by Nettles Fine Jewelry.
"While she is the current captain of the dance team, she goes way above and beyond that description," said dance coach Sarah Gallo. "Nicole has a great love for the team and is always pushing for our success by lifting up teammates, making herself open and available for communication, helping with and creating choreography for the team and by setting an example of a positive leader and team member within herself. I feel that she is someone that the girls, especially the new freshman, can look up to and go to for a helping hand or friendly advice. Nicole is always punctual, positive, and helping to keep the team focused. She has been an integral part in helping me plan fundraisers and community service events as well as coming up with new ideas and ways for the team to be more prevalent in the Flagler community. I couldn't ask for a better captain to help me through this first year as coach."
