Marie Taylor of the women's basketball team was selected as the Diamond in the Rough for the month of February, sponsored by Nettles Fine Jewelry.
"Marie was named captain last summer and has been a positive and tireless leader for our team," said head coach Erika Lang-Montgomery. "Despite playing limited minutes this season, her attitude has never changed. She comes to practice every day, works extremely hard, and every game she is the biggest supporter of her teammates -- never complaining, always making the most of every day and embracing the privilege of being a student-athlete. Marie has always been a great ambassador of our program and I feel is very deserving of this recognition."
