Flagler College Athletics

Veronica Figueroa of the women's tennis team was selected as the TraveLynx Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Mar. 13.

Figueroa went 2-1 in singles play last week and 3-0 in doubles helping No. 16 Flagler to a 3-0 week. She recorded a key win in singles at No. 11 Clayton State as she defeated Ivana Krommelova, the No. 10-ranked player in the region, in three sets. Figueroa also teammed with Jennifer Saviano to defeat the nationally ranked (No. 15) tandem of Katie White and Marie Cercelletti of Clayton State, 9-8 (7-4).

For the season, Figueroa is 6-2 in singles and 3-0 in doubles with Saviano.
