Born in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil, Aline Berkenbrock began competing at age 10 and went on to represent Brazil at the 2005 Junior Fed Cup in Spain. She came to the United States on a full tennis scholarship to the University of North Florida, where she played No. 1 singles and doubles all four years and became one of the most decorated athletes in program history. Named ASUN Freshman of the Year ('09), ASUN Player of the Year twice ('10, '12) and UNF Student-Athlete of the Year in both of those seasons. She also earned four First Team All-Conference selections and six Player of the Week honors, reached No. 47 nationally in doubles and finished her career with 62 singles wins and 68 doubles wins. As a sophomore she went 21-0 in dual matches and helped lead UNF to a ASUN championship and NCAA Tournament appearances in '10 and '12.
In 2019, Berkenbrock was inducted into the UNF Athletics Hall of Fame as part of its inaugural Division I class. In 2023 shse entered the HOF for a second time with the 2011-12 championship team. She holds a bachelor's degree in Health Administration from UNF, speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish and is currently the Director of Racquet Sports at Glen Kernan Club.
