Sydney (Cleveland) Roberts begins her sixth season as an assistant coach at Flagler.
Roberts came to the Ancient City from Georgia College where she served as a graduate assistant during the 2018-19 season. She worked with the development of guards for the Bobcats. Roberts also served as a staff mentor for the Game Changers for Leadership program for student-athletes. In that role, she helped research and delivered presentations on topics like character and professional development, team building, and leadership skills.
As a player, the 5-foot-10 forward was a three-point threat for the Bobcats. She is fifth all-time in three-pointers made with 157 and her 66 treys in 2018-19 is currently tied for fifth-most in a season at Georgia College. Roberts was just as impressive off the court as she was a three-time Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team member as well as being a two-time D2 ADA award recipient. She was a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar. Roberts as the president of Georgia College’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2018-19.Â
The Gainesville, Georgia native earned her bachelor’s in mathematics with a concentration in teaching from Georgia College in 2019. She earned her master’s in instructional technology at Georgia College in May of 2021. She got married (Oct. 1, 2022) to former Georgia College and Flagler College men's basketball player Kohl Roberts.Â
