2005: Posted a 7-3 record and a 3.41 ERA for the Saints…Made 15 appearances with 11 starts and tossed five complete games. Had season-high six strikeouts in consecutive starts at Warner Southern (Feb. 19) and vs. St. Thomas (Mar. 5). Hurled a pair of shutouts (at Warner Southern and vs. Edward Waters)…Played for the Florence Red Wolves of the Central Plains League over the summer…Posted a 3-5 record with a 3.19 ERA…Tossed a six-hit complete game shutout against Fayetteville.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Bartram Trail High in Jacksonville…A four-year letterwinner in baseball for Coach Tony Sowers…Posted a 17-4 career record with an ERA of 1.07 and 195 strikeouts…An honorable mention All-State selection as a senior…A two-time All-County first-team member…All-County Player of the Year as a senior…Captained team as a senior…Played in the State and Regional All-Star Games in 2004.

PERSONAL: Son of Erwin and Terri Burgess…A sport management major…Has an older sister…Lists Kansas City Royal prospect Billy Butler as the best player he has faced.
