JUNIOR COLLEGE: Attended North Arkansas College in Harrison…Played first base and pitched…Tossed 11.0 innings and posted an ERA of 2.46…Also batted .469 with 15 hits.

SAMFORD UNIVERSITY: Attended Samford University in Birmingham, Ala…As a freshman, played in 20 games, starting seven, playing primarily as a first baseman/designated hitter…Batted .297 with a double and five RBI…Went 3-for-4 with an RBI against Jacksonville State (5/28/04)…Played in only four games as a sophomore before redshirting for the remainder of the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota…Lettered two years in baseball.

PERSONAL: Son of Gene and Melody Lamont…A sport management major…Has a sister…His father, Gene, is the third base coach for the Detroit Tigers and has served as a Major League manager for eight years with the Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates.
