2025 (FRESHMAN): Redshirted...Named to the 2024-25 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Lake Norman High School in Moorseville, N.C...Lettered all four years in baseball as an outfielder...He helped bring his team to the second round of state playoffs his freshman year...He started every game except for one his sophomore year...Hit .333 his junior year and was runner-up for player of the year...Senior year he became a team captain...had no errors in the field since sophomore year.

CLUB: Played for the South Charlotte Panthers.

PERSONAL: Son of Mark and Lori Sumner...Has two brothers...One brother played baseball at Guilford College...Is a criminology and business major.
