Amber Melton joined the Flagler sports medicine staff on Jan. 3, 2022.
Melton comes to the Ancient City from Gardner-Webb University, a NCAA Division I member located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. In her stint at Gardner-Webb, she covered the women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s tennis teams.  Â
Prior to her time at GWU, Melton was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Wingate University. She was responsible for coverage of the cross country, track and field, and golf programs. Melton also served as a preceptor for the undergraduate athletic training program. She served as the meet director for the South Atlantic Conference and NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championships.
Melton received her bachelor’s in health sciences, with a minor in nutrition, from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 2017 and earned her master’s in athletic training from USF in 2019. She earned her master’s Wingate University in sports management last May. Melton is a board certified athletic trainer and is licensed in North Carolina. She is a proud member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Â
