BEFORE FLAGLER: Attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City…Batted .333 with 23 hits, 21 runs scored and 14 RBI in 2005…Batted .327 with 17 hits, six doubles and six RBI in 2004…Played for Coach Todd Rima…Redshirted at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls in 2003.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Sto. Tomàs de Villanueva in Caracas…Lettered in baseball, basketball and soccer…A two-time All-Miranda State selection in baseball.

PERSONAL: Son of Jose Marquez and Thais Acosta…A business administration major…Has a sister…Favorite player is Ivan Rodriguez.
