LAKELAND, Fla. – The Flagler women's soccer team (0-2-1) dropped a tough 1-0 battle at Florida Southern (2-0-2) on Saturday night following a late second-half goal from the Mocs. The Saints backline held strong limiting the Mocs to five shots on goal, despite generating 19 total shots.

TURNING POINT
Following 67 minutes of scoreless play, Florida Southern broke through first in the 68
th minute off a set piece opportunity. Isabella Payne delivered the set piece from the top of the box and laced a shot on goal. The initial shot was stopped by Flagler goalkeeper
Irina Barron-Gomez, but the rebound found a crashing Frankie Gatien who snuck it past Barron-Gomez to the bottom left corner. The Flagler attack didn't waver at the deficit, generating three corners and four shots over the remaining 22 minutes, but the Mocs backline held firm to secure the 1-0 victory.

- Netanya Brown, Presley Ancheta, and Jacqueline Destefano rounded out the Saints offense with multi-shot performances.
