Box Score YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The No. 1 ranked Flagler College women's lacrosse team defeated Young Harris College 19-4 this evening in their first match of their road stretch.
The Saints continue to dominate, improving to a 14-0 record while Young Harris falls to 8-5. The Saints will face Lee University (Tenn.) on Saturday, Apr. 4 at 11 a.m.
The Saints opened up play with a five goal run in the first period. After a goal by the Mountain Lions, the Saints then answered with a 10 goal run. Leading the charge was none other than the duo of
Jessica Wright and
Carley Tepel. Wright was the workhorse of the game, scoring three goals and three assists. Tepel finished with a match high four goals.
Ella Pinder was the last Saint to register a hat trick while also winning two draw controls and causing one turnover. Seven remaining Saints found at least one goal, with
Jelly Schnell and
Izzy Campos scoring two.
This is the fifth game this season where the Saints allowed five or fewer goals. An all around team effort led to the Saints causing 15 of the Mountain Lions 28 turnovers.
Gracie Karoly,
Taylor Jendrek and
Maddy Hartsock each caused two while nine other Saints caused one.
Mia Cosentino led the match with three draw controls while
Greta McGinnis and
Carly Bagnasco won two.
