COLUMBUS, Ga. - The No. 17-ranked (ITA Division II Top 50) Flagler College women's tennis team fell in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament Championship against No. 9 Columbus State University, 4-1, this afternoon at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.

Elena Ondobo was named the tournament MVP in singles play. Ondobo went undefeated at the No. 2 spot, defeating Maria Gento of Augusta University 6-2 and 6-0 and defeating No. 34 Olesya Stokusova of University of North Georgia 6-3 and 7-5. Ondobo's match went unfinished against Monika Temkova where she was up 6-2, 4-6 and 2-1.
Their tenth loss this season, Flagler finished conference play with a 16-10 overall record and 9-2 against conference opponents. The Saints will wait till next week to see if and where they are placed for the NCAA Tournament. The Cougars moved up to 18-4 overall and earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
In singles the match was played to clinch.
Ornella Lomenzo was the lone Saint to pull through, defeating Isabell Ek 6-3 and 6-4.
