ST. AUGUSTINE – The Flagler College men's and women's golf teams host the Peach Belt Conference Championship starting Sunday and finishing on Tuesday at the King & Bear course at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine.
The tournament begins at 7:50 a.m. on Sunday. The men will tee off on hole No. 1 while the women will start on hole No. 10.
The last time Flagler hosted the conference tournament was 2021, which was the last year of a five-year cycle of hosting the championship event. The Flagler women won the title while the Young Harris College men won that title.
The Saints men have won the league title three times (2011, 2015, and 2019). The women have won six titles (2010, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2024).
The defending PBC champions are the Lander University women and the USC Beaufort men.
The women's field consists of seven teams: Columbus State University, Edward Waters University, Flagler College, Lander University, the University of North Georgia, Savannah State University, and USC Beaufort. Teams ranked nationally, in the top 25, by SCOREBARD are: Lander (No. 6), Flagler (#14), and North Georgia (No. 15).
The men's field consists of eight teams: Columbus State, Flagler, Georgia College & State University, Georgia Southwestern State University, Lander, North Georgia, USC Aiken, and USC Beaufort. Team ranked in the top 25 are: Georgia Southwestern (No. 7), Columbus State (No. 10), USCA (No. 11), North Georgia (No. 12), and USC Beaufort (No. 18).
The Flagler women won their only tournament this year, the World Golf Invitational (Feb. 9-10), at the King & Bear.
Henriette Stranda leads the Saints with a 73.24 strokes per round average. She is ranked No. 3 in the nation by SCOREBOARD.
Sofia Terzoli, the PBC Freshman of the Year, is averaging 75.29 strokes per round. She is ranked No. 59.
Tabitha Hanely follows with a 75.46 stroke per round average and is ranked No. 55.
The Flagler men have two second place finishes this year (the Jay Jennison Cup and the Greenwood Men's Invitational).
Nic Eberhard leads the Saints with a 71.75 stroke per round average. He is ranked No. 84.
PJ Herron follows with a 72.5 average and is ranked No. 118.
