SAINT LEO, Fla. - The No. 15 Flagler College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 18 Saint Leo University, 17-7 this afternoon at the Jody Luihn Family Stadium.
With this loss the Saints fell to 5-3 while the Lions advanced to 4-1. The Saints will remain on the road next week as they travel to RV Florida Institute of Technology on Mar. 13 at 4 p.m.
The Saints offense was led by freshman
Will Linko. Linko was the lone Saint to score more than one goal, scoring two, and finished with three points. Six different Saints scored, with
Ben Nyberg being the only Saint to join Linko with more than one point. Nyberg had a goal and an assist.
Payton Maxwell served as the backbone of the Saints defense. With a match high three caused turnovers, long pole freshman set a new personal record.
Ty Scheckenbach and
Mekai Nelson notched two caused turnovers and found two ground balls. Getting his first start in goal,
Austin Slade made six saves.
