ST. AUGUSTINE -
Gracie Fleming recorded a team-high 13 kills and hit .360 as Flagler College lost its home opener to Ashland University 3-1 (15-25, 21-25, 26-24, 23-25) Thursday night at Flagler Gym to open the Flagler Invitational.
With this loss, the Saints move to 1-4 on the season. The Eagles stay undefeated at 4-0. The Saints will continue their play at 1 p.m. against Lees-McRae College.
Riley Murray added a season-high 10 kills for Flagler. Marley Middlebrook just missed a double-double with nine kills and 15 digs.
Clare Sheedy recorded her second double-double of the season as she tallied 42 assists while also scooping 10 digs.
Caity Clancy collected a match-high 26 digs, one more than Ashland's leader, Abbey Queen.
Sophia Samonek led the Eagles with a match-high 14 kills. Jenna Shedden added 13. Marin Dixon tallied 50 assists and six total blocks. Ravin Morgan finished with 11 total blocks. Livi Miller added an addidtional six total blocks.
Ashland dominated the net with 17.0 total team blocks.Â
