NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Flagler College men's track & field team and athlete
John Carbone were named United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team and Athlete, according to organization Monday afternoon.
For a team to be nominated and receive this recognition, the official roster must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Athletes who are nominated for this recognition must meet a multi-list of criteria. At a minimum, an athlete must have a 3.25 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale. Performance-wise, an athlete must have a top 50 time in any event during the winter or spring season.
At the completion of the 2024-25 academic year, Carbone held a 3.30 GPA as a graphic design major. During the winter season, Carbone competed in the Peach Belt Conference Indoor Championship in the 800 meter run. Placing fourth overall, Carbone's 1:52.57 finish put him at No. 40Â in the nation. As a team, the Saints put together a 3.17 GPA.
