Miquel Fons, and
Francisco Ramirez were named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District® Team, as announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the competition realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-July.
Burch, a junior biology and coastal environmental science major, earned his second consecutive academic all-district honor. The Cape Coral, Florida native is a two-time All-Peach Belt Conference honoree in track for the indoor distance medley relay. Burch is a two-time academic all-conference selection in both cross country and track as well as a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar. He was a recipient of the D2 ADA award last year. Burch ran a leg on the distance medley relay team that finished in second place at the PBCs in February.
Fons, a sophomore economics major, received his first academic all-district honor. The Manacor, Spain native is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar and was named academic all-conference in cross country and track. He finished in fifth place in the 5000-meter run at the PBCs in April.
Ramirez, a senior biology and coastal environmental science major, earned his second consecutive academic all-district accolade. The Pace, Florida native was a two-time all-region honoree in track, a three-time all-conference runner in cross country, and earned two all-conference honors in track. He was a three-time academic all-conference honoree and was a four-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar, three of those were gold. Ramirez was a recipient of the D2 ADA award last year. He finished in ninth place at the PBC Cross Country Championship. He took home all-region honors after finishing in 15
th place with a time of 30:50.9, which was a personal-best in the 10K. Ramirez finished second in the 3,000-meter run at the PBCs in February. He finished in second place in the 5,000-meter run at the PBCs in April.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
