ST. AUGUSTINE - In this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II Top 50 Poll, the Flagler College men's tennis team moved to the No. 4 spot in the nation this afternoon, according to organization officials.
The University of West Florida continued to dominate Division II tennis, holding the No. 1 spot for the seventh week in a row. Barry University moved up to No. 2, knocking Valdosta State University down to No. 3. Behind Flagler at No. 5 is Azusa Pacific University, for the first time this season.
The Saints defeated No. 38 Lynn University in their only match of the week. The 7-0 win puts the Saints at 15-2 overall.
Winning his match,
Simon Malis maintained his No. 27 spot in singles while
Baptiste Mercier moved up two spots to No. 37. In doubles,
Ilian Borlee and
Simon Malis are the only active pair of Saints in the rankings, occupying No. 40 after their 6-1 win.
