INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Flagler College volleyball team is one of 10 teams listed in the first of three NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, which was released Wednesday afternoon.

The first poll is listed alphabetically, but the next two will be ranked Nos. 1-10.  

Flagler (16-11 overall, 16-8 in-region record) is one of three Peach Belt Conference teams ranked in the top 10. Augusta University (21-6, 20-6) and Lander University (16-7, 15-7) are listed in the initial rankings.

Other teams listed are Anderson University (17-5, 17-4), Carson-Newman University (19-4, 16-4), Converse University (19-6, 19-6), Emmanuel College (15-8, 15-8), Francis Marion University (18-8, 18-7), Lenoir-Rhyne University (17-5, 17-4), and Wingate University (23-1, 23-0).

The Saints overall strength of schedule is .587, which is the best in the region. Flagler's region RPI is .595, which is fifth in the region. The national tournament selection criteria are based on, in no particular order: in-region winning percentage, D2 winning percentage, D2 strength of schedule, D2 head-to-head competition, and results vs. common D2 opposition.

The NCAA regional rankings are the official rankings used by the committee to select the national tournament field. The field will be comprised of 64 teams, and the Southeast Region will have eight teams playing at the top seed. However, two more polls are to be announced until the official release of the 64-team field on Monday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
