ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - 
Marley Middlebrooks' double-double led Flagler College to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-19) sweep over previously undefeated Augusta University in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Friday night at Flagler Gym.
The Saints inched closer to the No. 1 spot in the league standings as they improved to 8-2 and 15-11 overall. The Jaguars dropped to 9-1 in conference play and 21-5 overall. Flagler will return to the court tomorrow at 3 p.m. to continue its weekend series against Augusta.
Middlebrooks dominated the Jaguars as she earned her tenth double-double of the season and first since Oct. 17. She finished the match with 16 kills and 12 digs. 
Clare Sheedy tallied 33 assists. 
Amelia Fitzpatrick tied her season high in aces with four. 
Gracie Fleming tied for the match high in blocks with three. Middlebrooks finished with two.
Defensively, the Saints held the Jaguars to their second lowest hitting percentage against a conference opponent this season with a .133 mark.
Mia Saavedra was the leader for Augusta in both kills and aces with eight and three. Layne Witherspoon added three blocks. Sydney Harrington led the Jaguars in assists with 21 while Giulia Rodrigues finished with nine digs.
