FLORENCE, S.C. –
Camden Andrews poured in a game-high 28 points to help Flagler College defeat Francis Marion University 82-70 in a Southeast Region Crossover men's basketball game Friday afternoon at the Smith University Center.
Flagler won its season opener for the second consecutive season. Francis Marion dropped to 0-1. The Saints conclude the tournament tomorrow against Emory & Henry College at 1:30 p.m.
The Saints used a 13-0 spurt early in the second half to take a 55-39 lead and Flagler maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
Tariq Daughton came off the bench to supply 14 points while
Rahdir Hicks added 10 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Melvin Teal collected a team-high nine rebounds.
The Saints excelled in transition, scoring 25 fast-break points.
Farid St. Cyr, Jr. led the Patriots with 25 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Kennard Davis tacked on 12 points and five rebounds.
