Petersson and the Saints finish in seventh place at the PBCs

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Flagler College men's golf team shot an 18-over par 882 (293-284-305) and finished in seventh place at the Peach Belt Conference Championships, which wrapped up this afternoon at the Forest Hills Golf Club (par 72; 7,086 yards).

Joel Petersson led the Saints as finished in a tie for seventh place with a 3-under 213 (71-65-77). He finished with 34 pars, 10 birdies, and he had one eagle in the 54-hole tournament. This was Petersson's second top 10 finish of the year.

Top-ranked (Scoreboard by clippd ranking) University of North Georgia claimed the team title with an 18-under 846 (277-280-289). No. 3 Georgia Southwestern State University followed in second place with an even par 864 (289-286-289). No. 9 Lander University and USC Beaufort tied for third place with a 1-over 865.

Jack Vajda of North Georgia led wire to wire to top the 40-man field with a 12-under 204 (66-66-72). Bernard Meyer of Columbus State University finished in second place with a 7-under 209 (69-70-70). Linus Jonsson of Lander finished in third place with a 6-under 210 (67-71-72). Ellis Bright of USCB and Erik Olin of USC Aiken tied for fourth place with a 5-under 211. All five golfers earned all-tournament honors.

Flagler's Roo Fenwick finished in 27th place with a 6-over 222 (75-73-74). Franco Piovano carded a 13-over 229 (77-75-77) to finish in 35th place while Tomas Cavanagh followed in 36th place with a 14-over 230 (75-78-77). Nic Eberhard had to withdraw from today's final round.
