TEMPE, Ariz. – The Flagler College men's tennis team remains at No. 2, according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division II Coaches Poll, which was released Wednesday afternoon.
Flagler has a 13-2 overall record and is 3-0 in conference play. The Saints host Keiser University in an exhibition match on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Pollard Tennis Center.
There are five PBC teams, including Flagler, that are ranked in the top 50. Columbus State University slipped one spot to No. 5 while the University of North Georgia moved up one to No. 9. Lander University held at No. 14 and Augusta University moved up three spots to No. 31.
Saint Leo University tops the charts for the fourth week in a row. Valdosta State University follows Flagler at No. 3 again and Rollins College moved up to No. 4.
Baptiste Mercier is ranked No. 5 in singles. He holds a 27-9 overall record and is 12-2 in the spring. Mercier has reeled off eight consecutive wins.
Jacopo Denitto is ranked No. 12 and he sports a 21-14 overall record and a 10-5 mark in the spring.
Simon Malis moved to No. 69. He holds a 17-6 overall and is 11-2 in the spring.
Philipp Lemken is ranked No. 72. He is 21-7 this season and holds an 11-3 mark this semester. In doubles,
Ilian Borlee and Mercier check in at No. 37. The tandem has a 9-2 record. Lemken and Malis are ranked No. 38. They are 8-2 and are currently on a seven-match winning streak.
