Box Score DAHLONEGA, Ga.-
Andrea Fernandez scored two goals for No.11 (United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25) Flagler College in its 2-2 tie against Peach Belt Conference opponent, and No. 18-ranked, University of North Georgia.
Flagler now sits 4-0-3 overall and 1-0-2 in PBC play. UNG is now 5-0-2 for the season so far and has a 1-0-1 record in PBC play.
After a scoreless first half, Fernandez scored the first goal of the game with an assist from Jessica Leach. UNG came back towards the end of the half with Arielle Aronoff scoring two consecutive goals.
With five minutes remaining, Fernandez scored the equalizer when she converted a penalty kick. This goal allowed her to tie the program's record for career goals. Fernandez now has 44 goals in her career and is tied with Sara Sandberg (2018-20). She has scored a team-high seven goals this year.
On the defensive end,
Henley Grunst collected two saves for the Saints. Sierra Fowler tallied three saves for the Nighthawks.
The Saints will be back on Sept. 30 at 3:30 p.m. for at home PBC matchup against Georgia College & State University as well as celebrating Officials Appreciation Week.
