No. 8 Flagler finishes the season with a 19-7 record

ORLANDO, Fla. –No. 8 (ITA Collegiate Division II rankings) Flagler College ran into a red-hot No. 5 University of Indianapolis 4-0 in a quarterfinal 16 match of the NCAA Division II National Tournament Friday night at the USTA National Tennis Center.

UIndy won its 13th match in a row and advanced to the national semifinal on Sunday and will face the winner of the Hawai'i Pacific University-Columbus State University match that is currently in progress. Flagler wrapped up its season with a 19-7 record, but had its second consecutive NCAA Division II National Tournament appearance.

The Greyhounds jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after winning Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Matthieu Derache and Erwan Momo Andre defeated Philipp Lemken and Pavlos Parson, 6-3. Louis Picaud and Nikolaj Talimaa edged Petr Cervinka and Jacopo Denitto, 6-4.

UIndy posted straight sets wins at Nos. 2, 3, and 4 singles. Talimaa defeated Lemken 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 whole Denitto lost to No. 10-ranked Tom Zeuch 6-2, 6-2. Picaud clinched the match with a hard-fought 7-6, 6-2 win.
