TEMPE, Ariz. – The Flagler College women's tennis team is ranked No. 18 according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, which were released Wednesday afternoon.
Flagler (5-3) is playing Tusculum University this morning.
There are four schools from the Peach Belt Conference ranked nationally, including Flagler. The University of North Georgia is ranked No. 6 while Georgia College & State University is No. 9. Columbus State University is slotted at No. 38.
Topping the ranking is Barry University. Hawai'i Pacific University follows at No. 2. Nova Southeastern and Saint Leo University are ranked Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. The University of Indianapolis rounds out the top five.
For the first time in the regular season, the singles and doubles rankings were released. In singles play,
Nadja Meier is No. 5 and
Luisa Hrda is one spot behind her at No. 6.
Dana Heimen checks in at No. 65 while
Eryka Kruk is No. 71. Meier is 20-2 this year in singles and is a perfect 8-0 the spring. She has won 12 consecutive matches. Hrda has posted a 19-4 record and is 6-1 this spring. Heimen boasts a 15-3 record this year and is 5-2 this semester. Kruk is 14-6 and 5-3. The doubles team of Hrda/Kruk and Meier/Heimen are ranked No. 7 and 10. Hrda/Kruk are 10-6 overall and 1-4 this spring. Meier/Heimen are 11-2 and 3-0 this semester.
The next ranking will be released on March 13 and will continue every week through June 5.
