Jesse van Krimpen were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team, according to a release last week.
The record number of six honoree bests last's year's mark of four in the history of the program.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 19 (men) and December 20 (women). The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
Birkelund, an international business major, scored a goal and tallied three assists in 17 matches. The Højslev, Denmark native earned his second academic all-district honor and is a three-time All-Peach Belt Conference selection. Birkelund is an academic all-conference honoree and a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar.
Fisch, a sport management major, scored four goals and tallied six assists to finish second on the team with 14 points. The Rüsselsheim, Germany native is a two-time second-team all-conference pick and earned PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar honors last year. He received PBC Player of the Week honors on Oct. 2.
Hansen, a business administration major, led the Saints with six goals and he added five assists for a team-leading 17 points. The Regensburg, Germany native is a two-time first-team all-conference selection. He is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar and an academic all-conference honoree.
Nolgren, a business administration major and a psychology minor, logged 1,112 minutes in 16 matches. The Hörby, Sweden native earns his second academic all-district honor. He is a two-time academic all-conference honoree and is a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar.
Shanley, a coastal environmental science major, logged 1,322 minutes in 17 matches. The St. Augustine, Florida native is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar and earned academic all-conference honors last year.
Van Krimpen, a finance/accounting major and a business administration and economics minor, scored a goal with two assists in 17 matches. The Woking, England native earned PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar honors last year.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
