ST. AUGUSTINE –
Kyle Young scored a team-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Flagler College's 76-64 loss to the University of North Georgia in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at Flagler Gym.
North Georgia improved to 12-2 overall and 5-1 in the Peach Belt. Flagler is now 8-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play. Up next for the Saints is a road game at No. 6 (NABC Division II Top 25) Augusta University on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Greg Billups, Jr.'s layup with 6:07 left to go in the game tied the score at 56 and began a 22-8 North Georgia run to close out the game.
The score was tied at 30 at the half and the game featured 10 ties and seven lead changes.
Omar Figueroa came off the bench to supply 14 points for the Saints.
Jax Bouknight tied his career high in assists with six.
Frank Champion led four Nighthawks in double-figures with a game-high 25 points. He added eight rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots. Giancarlo Bastianoni tacked on 14 points and six rebounds while Billups, Jr. recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. AJ White came off the bench to provide 11 points and five assists.
North Georgia made 50 percent (30-of-60) of its shots from the field and sank 81.3 percent (13-of-16) from the free throw line.
