AUGUSTA, Ga.- Flagler College sophomore
Francisco Ramirez was selected as the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week for the first time in his career, released by conference officials today.
Ramirez headed the Saints pack in the season opener at the Valdosta State University Border Clash on Friday Sept. 2. The Pace, Florida native crossed the finish line at 23:46.4 to earn a sixth-place finish and a new personal best time for the 7.25-kilometer course. Ramirez shaved off 11.1 seconds from his time (23:57.5) last season at the VSU Border Clash.
Overall, the Saints earned 65 points to secure a second-place finish among nine teams.
The Saints will travel to Melbourne, Florida on Sept. 10 for the Eastern Florida State College Classic.
