AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College's
Mauro Baez was selected to the All-Peach Belt Conference Men's Golf Team, as released by conference officials this afternoon.
Baez earned his third first team all-conference honor in his illustrious career. He leads the Saints with a 71.54 strokes per round average and has six top 10 finishes, two of which were in the top five. He is ranked No. 17 in the nation by Golfstat. The senior from Posadas, Argentina finished in second place at The Trojan (March 28-29) with a 3-under par 213. Baez started the season with a 12-under 204 at the Jay Jennison Cup (Sept. 20-21). That 54-hole score was a career-best for Baez. He was selected as the PBC Golfer of the Week on Sept. 30.
The men's golf championship begins tomorrow (April 15) at 8 a.m. with the first of round of the 54-hole tournament at the Sea Palms Resort at St. Simons Island, Georgia. The tournament's final round will be played on Sunday.
