St. AUGUSTINE, Fla.-Monique Whiteman of the women's cross country team was selected as Athlete of the Month, sponsored by Holiday Inn Express for the month of November.
 
Whiteman was name athlete of the week on Nov.7. 
 
(From the Nov.7 release) The Bulls, New Zealand native became the third Saint to secure the individual championship title with a time of 18:35.5 in the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Nov. 5. Whiteman finished the 5k course 12 seconds ahead of second place.
 
After leading the Saints to their fifth consecutive PBC crown, Whiteman was awarded the PBC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year. The sophomore earned all-conference team and all-sportsmanship team honors. Whiteman holds the second fastest 5k time in the conference at 18:14.6, which she ran at the FSU XC Open on Oct.7.
 
Next up, Whiteman will be traveling to University Place, Washington on Dec 2. to compete at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships as an individual. Whiteman secured an at-large bid after securing seventh with a time of 22:24.0 on the 6K course at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship.
