GREENWOOD, S.C. - The second-seeded Flagler College men's soccer team fell at first-seeded Lander University, 1-0, in the Peach Belt Conference Championship Sunday afternoon.

The Bearcats (11-3-5) scored in the 18th minute after Jed Smith headed the ball in on an assist from Kevin Rubaszewski to take an early 1-0 lead.

The Saints (10-4-3) were unable to get a shot off in the first half, but took four shots in the second half in an effort to tie the game. Lander put up a strong defensive front in the final 45 minutes to keep its 1-0 score.

The Bearcats set the tempo, taking 12 shots to the Saints' four. Flagler had an 8-6 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper
Tirso Trueba made seven saves in the goal for the Saints.
