Monique Whiteman qualifies for NCAA Division II XC Championship

INDIANAPOLIS,In- Monique Whiteman received an at-large bid for the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, announced by officials on Monday afternoon.
 
In order to participate in the championship, teams and individuals had to qualify in their respective regional meets. The top three, seven-person teams from each of the eight regions qualified automatically. Next, 24 individuals were selected through an automatic qualifier and at-large.
 
Whiteman, a sophomore transfer, piloted the Saints fourth place finish at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championship on Saturday, Nov.19. The Bulls, New Zealand native secured seventh place out of 147 runners on the 6K course with a time of 22:24.0.
 
Whiteman also had a strong performance at the Peach Belt Conference Championships on Nov.5, where she posted a first-place time of 18:35.5 on the 5K course.
 
The championship meet will be held at Chamber Creek Regional Park in University Place, Washington on Dec.2. The women's race is scheduled for 2:15 p.m Eastern.
